We had a great trip from Salt Lake to Idaho Falls, about 4 hours. Again, amazing scenery.
We stayed at the Snake River RV Park which was nothing special and a bit of a pain because it was solid because they were sponsoring a beer fest.
We came to Idaho Falls at the invitation of an Army buddy. What makes it interesting is that we had never met each other until our arrival. We both are active on a Vet internet site that covers many things, especially losers that pretend to have heroic military service (aka, Stolen Valor). Charlie and I have communicated on the site and lot and we sensed we'd like each other in person...and did we! What a great visit! Even better was Charlie's wife Gloria and Robin hit it off from the first words and talked non-stop. AND, Gloria is a retired Postmaster so they talked USPS a lot.
Even better was another guy on the site drove from Oregon to join the gathering! Steve also was was a hit from the first meeting. (l-r: Me, Charlie, Steve)
Idaho Falls is a nice, small town. We could live there. Lots of fields of hay and potatoes, beautiful scenery. The fields are irrigated by massive sprinklers that go in a circle...so big that you can see the circles from airplanes and Google Earth.
Idaho Falls in only about 2 hours from Yellowstone National Park. Charlie and Gloria offered to take us there on Sunday! Wow! That deserves its on post.
Thanks Charlie, Gloria, and Steve for making this a lifetime memory. We're already planning our return!
