Laramie, Wyoming

Ole Steve Is Going to Sit on the Pax Side and Chill!

Yes, Robin drove most of the way and did a fantastic job. Of course, within miles of her taking the helm, we got construction with only one lane a traffic cones much of the way to Laramie.

216 miles (4.25 hours) on I-80 to Laramie, Wyoming. We were at 6,000 feet almost all the way. We are now at 7,200 feet.

Note those snow fences! They are everywhere. That is a clue to what winter must be like here.

Staying in the Green River KOA which is fine. Decided to stay 2 nights to rest and see the town. The dog park is right behind us so that is great.

IT RAINED LAST NIGHT!!!

This is the very first rain we have seen since the first week of March!

We had a fantastic dinner in town at the Attitude Chophouse and Brewery (LINK). Amazing food and service but, alas, not Mexico prices.

Afterwards we drove the Laramie streets. Could not help but wonder about how many horses, stage coaches, and gun fights had happened on these streets of Laramie. Maybe I watched too many westerns on Laramie and Cheyenne as a kid? We'll walk the streets tomorrow and report back. I don't have a 6 shooter though.

I ordered some Kindle books on the Oregon Trail since that is what we have been on for the last few days.

We each keep saying what a Blessing this trip has been. Neither of us could ever have dreamed of such.

  1. I had never seen a snow fence before. I might add that I hope I never see one in person holding back the amount of snow that it is designed to hold back!!! Beautiful though.
