US Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, CO

Short 3.5 hour, 195 mile, run mostly on I-25 to the US Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs.  Beautiful ride, once again. And, we're high up!

Passed through Denver...busy place.

And the Academy

We're staying at the RV park there LINK. Nice wooded place. Train nearby but not a big deal. Small aircraft overhead from the Academy airfield towing gliders that the Cadets fly. Fun to watch them.

Main purpose of being here is visiting with son Luke and family. Been awhile. Will be here for 5+ days. On Friday we visited and did a little tour of the area including this fantastic view of Pikes Peak

We ended up in a fantastic German restaurant, Edelweiss. LINK. We haven't had German food since the wonderful German restaurant in Hickory closed.

Oh, BTW, Robin continues her foodie ventures: she had and loved Escargot...i.e., snails.

Robin, Deb, and Luke. More on the visit and reunion in later posts.

A great day. We keep having them. We are truly blessed.
