Topeka, Kansas

Whoa, it is hot. At least 100. We're have generator problems so we can run the "house" AC's and have to rely on the engine AC. It tries but isn't up to the job. All of us are panting!

Did 238 miles in 4 hours. All on I-70. When the GPS came on it said Drive 232 miles to Exit ###. I put it on cruise control and never touched it for 175 miles when we got into the Flint Hills. Still wide open spaces but this time it is a little greener. Pretty drive if we hadn't been so hot. Lots of electric turbine windmills. Fair number of oil wells.

Staying at the Deer Creek Valley RV Park in Topeka. LINK The owner LOVES concrete! Can't imagine how many yards he installed and the cost! The grounds are manicured - looks like Dustin was doing the job. Cost is $39/night.

Supposed to leave tomorrow but it depends on if I can get a Mobile RV Tech here to look at the generator. Rather not drive hot again especially since we have a couple of longer days ahead.

  1. Not far from my home, Kansas City. We used to call Topeka "tornado alley". K.C. is a fun place. Let me know if you are headed there.
