The road to there |
Who's this old Gringo grouch? |
Walked by a hat store...did they have hats! We had to get a sombrero for the twins. These are serious hats! Zoom in and see. The detail in them is amazing. The hat company isn't on the A list for models it seems. This guy could use some AB work. Wait a minute...that's the old grouch in the earlier picture!
David Cline: is there a cross fit outfit in Mexico? This guy needs it. |
Then we strolled through the market and central plaza. Of course there was a church and we had to go in. How is it that all the churches, even in the smallest of towns, are so beautiful?
All the churches have palms in some sort of arrangement since Palm Sunday. |
And, of course we found a place to eat. There are many stalls on the side walk selling different kinds of food. We decided we hadn't had chicken in awhile so we sat down inside. Roasted over a wood fire or fried. By the way, they call the fried one "Polo Kentucky". The Colonel is everywhere. As a retired restaurateur, I was impressed with the hygiene standards.
2 huge plates (1 to take home) of roasted and 1 of fried with all the trimmings and beverages: $14.31.
Here's something you don't see everyday.
Why yes, those are caskets on a pick up truck. |
Those caskets will probably end up here |
Another wonderful day in Mexico. BTW, today marks the 1 month since we left Charlotte. Did a lot and seen a lot in one month! And we're just getting started.
Can't beat the chicken in Mexico, think it's the natural feed and not the pump you up drugs as in the states.
ReplyDeleteBingo! The chicken is yellow and has taste. We've commented at breakfast about how the eggs really have a flavor. Thanks for commenting.
