Title is yet another Robin quote during our 3 mile walk of Guanajuato. What an amazing place. Seems carved out of a mountain with buildings sticking out of the mountain and a labyrinth of auto tunnels. Churches everywhere. Walk a few feet and there is an amazing path to one side of the other. Amazing market. Friendly folks. This post will mainly be pictures with a little commentary.
Getting there...about 30 min from the RV park to being parked:
Sights around town:

Hey! Isn't that the old grouch we saw last week? |
|
This is a KFC...the name didn't show up |
Loved the market. BTW, it smelled fantastic! Everything was so fresh and very clean.

Yummy taco filings |

Wish they had more choices of hot sauce to use |

Pictures don't do it justice |

In Spanish we asked for permission to take a picture. "Sure, why not" was the answer! He asked where we were from and said: "Oh, the Panthers!" |
Oh, yes, we ate. A fantastic Italian dinner on a balcony over looking the square. It was expensive, around $50.
|
Appetizers! Seafood on the left and Prosciutto/Melon on the right |
|
Osso Bucco and Salmon |

The balcony where we ate |
Stopped at a huge grocery store on the way home:

Amazing eh? |
We're tired!!!
OMG! Osso bucco. The further south you go, the better it gets! Some of these pictures just can't be from Mexico. Impossible :)
ReplyDeleteI have traveled extensively in Italy. Both from view, service, and food prep, I felt like I was back in Rome. Except a hell of a lot cheaper.
DeleteThe balcony where you ate looks like the hotel we stayed in. San Francisco Hotel? Ot something like that?
ReplyDeleteSan Diego Hotel? That's where this restaurant was. Right next to the Theater.
ReplyDeleteThat's it! We probably ate on the same balcony! Our room overlooked the park as well.
