Palm Sunday (SLP)

It is Palm Sunday and the start of Holy Week, or as known here, Semana Santa. We went to the little village across the lake from the RV park, named Mexquitic. The church is the center of attention especially today, being Palm Sunday. Many vendors were making and selling these beautiful weaving's of palm fronds. Everyone had a last 1 it seemed. Imagine how long it took to make these. Cost? US $ 1.15!

Mass ended just as we arrived and bought ours. I noticed the Priest was blessing the palms so I got in line and was also blessed, and even sprinkled. It meant a lot.

This little church has only been around fro 425 years!

Yes, we ate. These folks were serving up fantastic food from a sidewalk stand. BTW, there was a huge kettle of boiling oil right there. OSHA would not be amused. The locals seem to say, watch where you're going and forget about suing. Lunch of two huge and yummy gorditas and beverages was $4.26.
The pictures doesn't do it justice. The smells were great

She was so very nice and helpful

It was a blessed day - in more ways than one.
