What a wonderful surprise (SLP)

We were hooking up this morning getting ready to leave when Juan, his wife, and his son, came by to tell us good bye. Wow. That touched us so much. Then, he reaches into a bag and pulls out a beautiful wall hanging that they wanted us to have. We were floored. This is a man who works at the campground and was the one that washed and waxed the RV. Since his English is perfect, we talked a fair amount. In fact he stopped last night to make sure we were ok before he locked the gates...he stayed for almost 2 hours talking. The kindness of these people never ceases to amaze us.

We had a nice 3 hour trip to San Ramon Hotel and RV and are waiting for Chris, Juan, Norma and Croft to stop by. More tomorrow.

I said I'd post tomorrow but this cannot wait. Chris, Juan, Norma and Croft came over as said. What a great reunion esp since I had not seen Croft and Norma since 2009. Very emotional moment for me and this followed the amazing send off from Juan and his family. We all talked non stop. What a fantastic evening.

It can't get any better, right? El Wrongo. A couple showed up at our little party and I heard someone say "Terri". Then I heard someone say "Mike". No way! It cannot be Mike and Terri Church of the "Church Book" fame. THE book that RV'ers to Mexico have carried for years. THE book that I just recommended to a gent on Facebook this morning. Yes, it was. After more than 10 years I met them and they were as amazingly nice as I expected. And here they are parked next to us.  Here's a link to their fantastic book LINK

What a day. Still can't believe Juan and his families good bye. And then all the rest. We are truly blessed.

    1. They really are full...4 or 5 rig caravan came in late yesterday. We're in the field by the road along w 4 other rigs, including the Church's next to us. Dry except we can plug in for lights and small stuff only. We're happy campers.

  4. Wow! Small world. Show them what Juan at El Faro did for us. After they left there was no one there, including the owner Pedro. He and his wife had to go to DF for a sick relative so we were on our own except when Juan checked in to feed the animals. Taking notes on your travels. Wish all of you had been here last night...what fun.
