Got up early and ready to roll at 0800. Pulling towards the campground exit and noticed the car wasn't aligned properly. Got out and the rod had separated from the towing tube! Luckily it was just unthreaded but took a long time to reattach.
Decided that it was too late (1000) to do the 6+ hour run and still have a Plan B if needed so we're staying an extra day. We'll check out Guaymas.
This is a good thing. Imagine if it had done that at 50MPH? Oh, and ordered a new tow bar for delivery to Tucson Fri. This one was bought in '05 and has 3 Mexican road trips (and Topes) plus US tows. It needs a rest.
Check out the old Hotel Playa de Cortez that is also an RV park. The place has a lot of history!
